The 5 steps to passing your InburgerinG Exams
Step 1: Prepare for your exams
Passing your inburgering exams is a critical step towards securing Dutch citizenship or permanent residency in the Netherlands. You will be required to pass your exams within a specific timeline to avoid fees or deportation. This makes it essential to use trusted resources and implement effective study methods. Of the 6 sections of the Inburgering exam there is likely to be one or more that you struggle to pass. Private Dutch lessons offer personalized guidance and support, which will increase your likelihood of success.
Step 2: Assess your readiness
I have helped countless of my students from around the world pass their Inburgering exams. Familiarity with the test procedure and materials helps me to assess each of my students along the way and advise them on when to begin their exams and in what order to take them, in order to ensure the best possible and quickest rate of success.
Step 3: Sign up for your exams
The process of signing up to take the Inburgering exams is fairly simple. First, you must register for the exams through the Dienst Uitvoering Onderwijs (DUO) website. You will then be given the option to schedule your exams one by one. The 6 exams will be taken one at a time, with most students choosing to spread them out over several weeks.
Step 4: Take your exams
The exams can be taken at any one of the 6 authorized testing centers across the Netherlands. Tests are taken in individual testing booths or desks in class-sized groups. At the start of the test, you will receive a brief explanation from the administrator before the clock starts. Each test appointment will last approximately 1 hour from start to finish.
Step 5: Wait for your scores
After completing the exams, your results are sent by mail within 1-4 weeks. A score of 6 or higher is required in each exam category. Successful candidates can then proceed with the immigration or naturalization process. However if you do not pass in one or more category of your Inburgering exam, you can simply sign up to repeat the exam until you pass.
